Legal Counsel – In‑House (Technology Commercial Agreements)

About the role

This position offers the chance to work on a wide variety of technology‑focused commercial agreements within KPMG’s Office of General Counsel. You will join an inclusive, supportive in‑house team that values innovation and collaboration, reporting to the Head of Commercial and advising senior executives across the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance for KPMG’s rapidly evolving solutions and service offerings.
• Review, draft and negotiate a range of agreements, including master services, procurement, implementation, licensing, SaaS, managed services and outsourcing contracts.
• Advise on structuring and responding to tenders for service provision.
• Collaborate closely with client engagement teams as well as Risk Management, Privacy and IT Security groups.

Required profile

• Commercial lawyer with more than 3 years post‑qualification experience in a leading law firm or equivalent in‑house role (exceptionally strong contracting track may be considered).
• Current Australian practising certificate.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all organisational levels.
• Strong commercial acumen, project‑management, research, analysis and problem‑solving abilities.
• Flexible, adaptable, team‑oriented and capable of working independently while managing competing priorities.
