Legal Counsel - Corporate & Commercial

About the role

Harvey Norman, Australia's largest retailer of lifestyle products with nearly 300 stores worldwide, is hiring a Legal Counsel for its Corporate & Commercial practice. Reporting to the General Manager of Legal & Company Secretarial and working onsite at the Corporate Office in Homebush West, you will advise the ASX-listed company and its subsidiaries on a wide range of legal matters, engaging with senior management and executives.

Key responsibilities

• Information technology: master services agreements, software licensing, IT project and development governance
• Sponsorships and promotional activities, including sponsorship agreements
• Commercial terms of supply and purchase, and procurement activities
• AML/CTF, gift card activities and finance arrangements
• Intellectual property: trade mark portfolio management, licensing and domain name management
• Privacy and data governance
• Compliance and regulatory compliance

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 4 years' post-admission experience, ideally gained in a reputable in-house legal firm
• Current, unrestricted NSW Practising Certificate or eligibility to obtain one
• Exceptional communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills, with a strong commercial mindset
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, mentor others and manage multiple priorities independently
• Right to work in Australia
