Legal Counsel – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

This 6‑month contract position supports the Senior Manager, Legal Counsel and provides practical legal advice for adidas operations across Australia and New Zealand. You will work closely with the Melbourne legal team and collaborate with regional, global, and cross‑functional partners.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements.
• Provide clear legal advice on commercial, employment, leasing and consumer matters.
• Identify legal risks, advise stakeholders and help mitigate them.
• Support dispute resolution and represent the company when required.
• Contribute to regional legal projects and initiatives.
• Assist with compliance programmes, including data protection and policy governance.
• Monitor and maintain compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in Australia.
• Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience in a law firm or in‑house role.
• Experience with commercial contracts, corporate matters, employment or consumer law.
• Strong understanding of the Australian legal landscape; litigation exposure is a plus.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
