Leading Hand – Commercial Construction Site

About the role

The company is a well‑regarded construction business delivering high‑quality commercial and industrial projects. Reporting to the Site Manager/Project Manager, the Leading Hand will coordinate daily site activities, supervise subcontractors, and ensure safe, efficient delivery of work.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site labour for smooth project delivery.
• Assist in implementing construction programmes and site plans.
• Oversee day‑to‑day site operations, including deliveries and trade coordination.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and site safety standards.
• Support quality assurance by monitoring works against specifications.
• Identify and address site issues, risks and defects early.
• Maintain clear communication with site teams and management.
• Promote a positive, productive and safe site culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years experience as a Leading Hand or similar role in commercial/industrial construction.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Proactive problem‑solving and safety‑focused mindset.
• Trade qualification preferred; current First Aid Certificate required.
• Relevant site tickets (e.g., working at heights, confined spaces) advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence.
