Leading Hand – Civil Construction

About the role

BMD is seeking an experienced Leading Hand to oversee minor civil infrastructure and urban development projects across Australia. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, safely, and to the highest quality standards while supporting a collaborative on‑site team.

Key responsibilities

• Arrange plant, labour, and material resources to meet project schedules.
• Direct and monitor subcontractors, suppliers, and plant hirers.
• Control survey requirements and daily activity costs.
• Maintain compliance with OHS, environmental, and construction program requirements.
• Report non‑conformances and recommend remedial actions.
• Maintain daily site activity records and ensure client quality expectations are met.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Civil Construction.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Proven leadership experience on minor civil infrastructure or urban development projects.
• Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and teamwork orientation.
