Leading Hand Carpenter

About the role

Nyblad Construction is seeking an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter to oversee residential renovation projects on the Sunshine Coast. This hands‑on leadership role combines high‑quality carpentry with day‑to‑day site coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Perform high‑quality carpentry and general renovation works.
• Lead and coordinate onsite employees, apprentices and subcontractors.
• Manage site priorities to keep works on schedule.
• Plan material, trade and labour requirements in advance.
• Identify and address potential delays, site issues and quality concerns early.
• Maintain safe, clean and professional worksites.
• Mentor apprentices and support less experienced team members.
• Provide clear project updates to the Builder and Scheduler.
• Communicate professionally with clients and stakeholders.
• Assist with final inspections, defects and handovers.

Required profile

• Trade qualification in carpentry and a current White Card.
• Extensive residential construction experience, preferably in renovations.
• Proven ability to lead an onsite team as a Leading Hand.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, sequencing and quality standards.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and scopes of work.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Current driver’s licence and reliable transport.
