Principal Engineer - Transport (Rail)

About the role

Egis is hiring a Principal Engineer - Transport within its Rail business unit to lead the pursuit and delivery of multidiscipline transport projects across Southeast Queensland. The role combines project leadership, client management, work winning and technical oversight, acting as a Key Account Manager locally and as tender lead for priority opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the successful pursuit and delivery of transport projects across Southeast Queensland
• Provide delivery-focused leadership across the project lifecycle, bringing together technical, advisory, construction and commissioning capabilities
• Act as Key Account Manager in the locality and tender lead for priority opportunities
• Develop and execute local work-winning strategies and pursuit plans
• Present an integrated Egis team to clients and partners to support the growth of Egis' transport presence in the region

Required profile

• Ideally 15+ years of experience in the transport sector with senior leadership capability
• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering accredited at Professional Engineer level
• Chartered professional engineer status and current RPEQ registration
• Demonstrated experience across design, construction, testing and commissioning
• Experience leading bids and managing strategic client relationships
• Knowledge of the Southeast Queensland transport market, clients, delivery partners and procurement environment is highly desired

Required skills

• Expert technical knowledge in a relevant engineering discipline and understanding of multidisciplinary transport interfaces
• Strong understanding of Australian railway standards and guidelines
• Consulting, client relationship and key account management skills
• Commercial acumen, strategic thinking and effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
