Lead Structural Engineer - Energy

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to join its Energy team in Brisbane. You will work on a range of energy infrastructure projects, including substations, transmission lines, BESS, solar, wind and power plants, delivering high‑quality structural solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee structural design delivery across substations, transmission, BESS, solar, wind and power plant projects.
• Partner with clients to solve complex technical challenges and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Guide and support a collaborative team, sharing knowledge and developing technical capability.
• Drive high‑quality structural designs using industry‑leading tools, methodologies and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, advisory, digital and environmental disciplines.
• Apply advanced engineering analysis to optimise performance, efficiency and constructability.
• Champion technical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement across projects.
• Build trusted client relationships and support the growth of Aurecon’s Energy business.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering qualifications with significant experience delivering structural designs for energy infrastructure.
• Registered CPEng and RPEQ.
• Proven experience designing steel and reinforced concrete structures, including analysis, modelling and foundation design.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor teams, share knowledge and guide complex technical decisions.
• Strong client‑facing skills and experience leading projects while balancing technical excellence with programme, budget and delivery outcomes.
• Passion for innovation, continuous improvement and supporting the energy transition.
