About the role
Aurecon is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to join its Energy team in Brisbane. You will work on a range of energy infrastructure projects, including substations, transmission lines, BESS, solar, wind and power plants, delivering high‑quality structural solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee structural design delivery across substations, transmission, BESS, solar, wind and power plant projects.
- Partner with clients to solve complex technical challenges and provide practical engineering solutions.
- Guide and support a collaborative team, sharing knowledge and developing technical capability.
- Drive high‑quality structural designs using industry‑leading tools, methodologies and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, advisory, digital and environmental disciplines.
- Apply advanced engineering analysis to optimise performance, efficiency and constructability.
- Champion technical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement across projects.
- Build trusted client relationships and support the growth of Aurecon’s Energy business.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive team environment where people can learn, grow and thrive.
Required profile
- Relevant engineering qualifications with significant experience delivering structural designs for energy infrastructure.
- Registered CPEng and RPEQ.
- Proven experience designing steel and reinforced concrete structures, including analysis, modelling and foundation design.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor teams, share knowledge and guide complex technical decisions.
- Strong client‑facing skills and experience leading projects while balancing technical excellence with programme, budget and delivery outcomes.
- Passion for innovation, continuous improvement and supporting the energy transition.
