Lead Product Designer

About the role

As Lead Product Designer you will shape the future of AI‑driven usage‑based pricing and monetisation across Atlassian’s enterprise SaaS suite. You will define how millions of admins and end‑users interact with budgeting, forecasting and consumption analytics in a seamless, transparent way.

Key responsibilities

• Define a multi‑year experience strategy for usage controls, budget management and consumption analytics across central admin and billing consoles.
• Architect frameworks for monitoring, allocating and purchasing AI capabilities alongside core platform features in products such as Jira and Confluence.
• Design end‑to‑end journeys for usage forecasting, threshold alerts, department budget partitioning, add‑on purchasing and automated guardrails.
• Partner with Product Management, Engineering and Analytics to ensure cohesive experiences for both admins and end‑users.
• Set benchmarks for complex interaction design, creating modern data‑visualisation patterns, real‑time telemetry dashboards and predictive forecasting tools.
• Champion design excellence, mentor senior designers and lead constructive design critiques across platform teams.

Required profile

• 8+ years designing complex, high‑impact digital products, enterprise SaaS platforms or data‑dense web applications.
• Proven ability to translate deep technical, financial or algorithmic complexity into clear, human‑centred experiences.
• Track record of leading ambiguous, zero‑to‑one initiatives and building strong partnerships with product and engineering leadership.
• Experience delivering user research, information architecture, interaction design, prototyping and scalable design systems.

Required skills

• Design systems and data‑visualisation expertise.
• Real‑time analytics and forecasting interface design.
• Experience with AI interaction models, autonomous agents and consumption‑based mechanics (preferred).
