Lead Process Engineer (Metallurgist)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Process Engineer to join our growing Process Engineering team. The role offers a senior consulting engineer the chance to step into technical leadership, mentor engineers, and drive project delivery across the mining and minerals sector.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and governance for process engineering activities, reviewing and approving deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, design criteria and calculations.
• Lead project scopes from initial studies through detailed design, ensuring quality, budget and schedule compliance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, support project planning and engage with clients through reviews, workshops and technical discussions.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering a high‑performing, client‑focused culture.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated consulting experience within an engineering consultancy, EPCM or project delivery environment.
• Proven track record leading engineering teams, projects or study packages.
• Extensive experience in mineral processing (gold, lithium, rare earths or other critical minerals).
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and report writing abilities.
