Lead Penetration Tester (NV1 clearance)

About the role

The Lead Penetration Tester will oversee complex cyber security testing activities, including penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and threat simulations across a range of technologies. The role requires delivering detailed reports, providing expert guidance to system owners, and mentoring junior staff to improve the organisation's security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute advanced penetration testing and vulnerability assessment projects for web, mobile, and infrastructure platforms.
• Design and run threat simulation activities to uncover weaknesses in technical security controls.
• Oversee the catalogue of test findings, approve testing plans, and ensure remediation is completed effectively.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise to stakeholders, develop test scopes, and communicate technical findings and recommendations.
• Manage and coach a team of testers, setting priorities, performance goals, and resource allocation.
