Lead Mechanical Engineer – Water Infrastructure

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive the design and delivery of water infrastructure projects. You will mentor junior engineers, shape technical standards and collaborate across a national network of offices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and delivery of water infrastructure, including pumps, valves, pipelines and treatment assets.
• Provide technical oversight from concept through detailed design and Design & Construct delivery.
• Mentor and develop junior and mid‑level engineers.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and contribute to bids and business development.
• Collaborate with interstate teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within water infrastructure.
• Proven ability to lead or mentor engineering teams.
• Experience in a consulting or project delivery environment.
• Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or RPEV/RPEQ registration highly regarded.
