Lead Integration Architect (Contract)

About the role

Randstad is recruiting an experienced Integration Architect for a full-time contract role in Brisbane, running initially to May 2027. You will define and govern the target-state integration and modern development landscape across a complex hybrid environment, working alongside multi-disciplinary architecture and delivery teams to set reusable patterns, practical standards and key repositories that drive resilience, security and long-term digital capability.

Key responsibilities

• Define current, target and transition states for integration and development architectures, backed by a prioritised implementation roadmap.
• Build, populate and govern core architectural artefacts such as the integration catalogue, API registry, interface matrix and platform inventory.
• Establish reference architectures, design guardrails and standards across SAP Integration Suite, SAP BTP and Microsoft Azure Integration Services.
• Deliver a pattern catalogue covering synchronous APIs, asynchronous messaging, event-driven architectures, batch processing and managed file transfers.
• Lead architecture reviews, create architecture decision records and guide delivery teams to embed secure-by-design, resilient and observable practices.

Required profile

• Substantial architecture experience across enterprise integration, APIs, middleware, messaging, event-driven platforms and hybrid integration spanning SAP, Microsoft Azure and SaaS environments.
• Proven ability to define API lifecycle, versioning, discoverability, streaming, CDC and batch patterns, including security, secret management, resilience and observability.
• Demonstrated excellence in architectural decision-making, stakeholder facilitation and governance, with relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience; TOGAF, Azure or SAP certifications highly desirable.
• Brisbane-based candidate with unlimited working rights.

Required skills

• SAP Integration Suite and SAP BTP concepts, and hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure Integration Services (API Management, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid and Functions)
• Modern software architecture, cloud-native development, Git-based delivery, CI/CD, Azure DevOps, automated testing and infrastructure as code
