Senior E-commerce Project Manager (Shopify)

About the role

A Brisbane-based Shopify eCommerce agency is looking for a Senior eCommerce Project Manager to own delivery of Shopify builds, migrations and optimization work. The role is full-time and remote, with an overlap required with APAC time zones. It is hands-on: you will configure apps and work in the Shopify theme customizer yourself, while giving clients strategic eCommerce guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of Shopify builds, migrations, optimization and ongoing client work, covering scope, schedule, budget, resources, dependencies and outcomes.
• Lead projects through discovery, planning, UX/UI design, development, QA, UAT, launch and post-launch support.
• Plan and sequence work across design, development and QA, keeping priorities, blockers and ownership visible.
• Run day-to-day project operations in ClickUp and Harvest, including task and sprint management, budget tracking and reporting.
• Manage scope changes, risks and timeline or budget impacts early, with clear recommendations.
• Lead discovery and advise clients on eCommerce best practices, CRO, UX, customer journeys, merchandising and site functionality, helping them prioritize initiatives.
• Serve as the primary delivery contact for clients, lead discussions with senior stakeholders and coordinate with developers and designers.
• Improve project management standards, workflows and documentation, mentor junior project managers and use AI and automation to improve planning and reporting.

Required profile

• 5+ years of project management or delivery experience, ideally in a Shopify or eCommerce agency.
• Strong experience managing complex eCommerce builds, migrations, redesigns and ongoing optimization.
• Ability to advise clients on eCommerce best practices, CRO, UX, merchandising and website optimization.
• Strong commercial judgement, understanding of agency economics, scope risk, budgets and change management.
• Highly organized, proactive and accountable, with strong written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Hands-on Shopify experience, including configuring apps and using the theme customizer.
• Working knowledge of the broader eCommerce ecosystem, common apps and platform capabilities.
• Ability to turn ambiguous business needs into clear requirements and priorities.
• Technical fluency to communicate with developers and know when specialist input is needed.
