Lead DevOps Engineer

About the role

ING Australia is looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join its Platform Engineering function, reporting to the Platform Operations Manager. The role is a leadership position combining deep technical expertise with a focus on operational excellence, automation and continuous improvement. You will be accountable for the reliability, scalability, security and performance of ING's critical technology platforms, partnering with Infrastructure, Architecture, Security and Software Engineering to advance cloud-native platforms and DevOps maturity.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational and infrastructure support to software delivery and engineering teams.
• Build and maintain tools that improve application monitoring, integration and deployment.
• Manage and maintain application configuration and code repositories.
• Contribute to Platform Engineering initiatives focused on Continuous Delivery (CD) capabilities.
• Automate manual processes and develop solutions that improve operational efficiency and reliability.

Required profile

• Experience in software development, infrastructure engineering or DevOps environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of container technologies, particularly Kubernetes.
• Scripting and automation experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python or Ansible.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server and MongoDB.
• Expertise in Azure Cloud, AKS, microservices, Kafka and Terraform.
• Strong problem-solving skills, a continuous learning mindset and openness to AI-driven technologies.
