Lawyer – Victim‑Survivor Support (Perth)

About the role

Join Knowmore Legal Service to provide free, confidential legal assistance to victim‑survivors of childhood sexual abuse and the Stolen Generations. You will work within a trauma‑informed, culturally safe environment, helping clients navigate compensation and redress schemes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality legal advice, representation and referrals to clients via telephone and face‑to‑face consultations.
• Manage a significant caseload, ensuring service standards, timelines and accurate data recording.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external service providers to meet clients’ legal and ancillary needs.
• Participate in outreach activities, including visits to remote communities and relevant agencies.
• Comply with professional legislation, risk‑management guidelines and community legal centre policies.

Required profile

• Current practising certificate to practice as a lawyer in Western Australia.
• Experience in administrative or civil law and providing advice to vulnerable individuals.
• Demonstrated cultural competency with Aboriginal people or ability to acquire it quickly.
• Trauma‑informed approach, resilience, self‑care and commitment to social justice.
• Willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Strong computer proficiency within a legal practice environment.
• Familiarity with CRM systems (desirable).
