About the role
McCabes is seeking a Lawyer or Associate to join its Insurance Division in Melbourne on a full‑time basis. You will work on high‑value matters for premium insurer clients across a range of insurance lines.
Key responsibilities
- Act in coverage and defence roles for general insurance claims, managing matters from inception to completion.
- Lead and mentor paralegals, graduates and junior lawyers within the team.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent) with a current Victorian practising certificate.
- 1‑3 years post‑admission experience in general insurance matters, including casualty or financial lines claims.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of insurance law and ability to communicate with experts across multiple fields.
- Commercial focus, initiative, and ability to manage a busy workload under tight deadlines.
