Lawyer / Associate – General Insurance (Perth)

About the role

Hall & Wilcox is seeking a Lawyer or Associate to join its General Insurance team in Perth. The role focuses on defending general liability claims across casualty, property damage and product liability matters, with regular appearances in the District Court and Supreme Court of Western Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Review documents and prepare evidence for defence cases.
• Draft correspondence to courts, third parties and clients.
• Confer with witnesses, prepare witness statements and briefs for counsel.
• Attend court, draft court documents and client advice letters.
• Prepare letters of instruction to experts.
• Supervise and mentor junior lawyers and team members.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years post‑admission experience advising on defendant insurance matters, preferably in personal injury and general liability.
• Experience managing files and conducting court proceedings.
• Proactive, able to work autonomously and collaboratively.
• Excellent analytical, drafting and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Effective organisational and prioritisation abilities.
