Labourer – Road and Civil Infrastructure

About the role

Mackay Regional Council is seeking safety‑focused Labourers to join the Civil Operations team. You will work on the construction and maintenance of roads, drainage assets and other civil infrastructure across the Mackay region.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hands‑on construction and maintenance tasks including earthworks, concrete work, pipe laying, bitumen and vegetation activities.
• Assist with traffic management, site set‑up and ensure worksites remain clean, safe and professional.

Required profile

• Current General Construction Safety “White” Card.
• Current Queensland manual ‘C’ Class Open Driver Licence.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors and a strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

Required skills

• Experience in road and drainage construction and maintenance, including concrete works.
• Desirable: Queensland Medium Rigid ‘MR’ Class Driver Licence, Traffic Controller and Traffic Management Implementer accreditation, relevant plant or machinery tickets/licences.

• Base annual salary of $68,187.87 plus applicable allowances.
