Kitchen Steward – Part Time

About the role

Join the back‑of‑house team at Hotel Chadstone Melbourne MGallery, a luxury hotel where cleanliness and efficiency are essential. As a Kitchen Steward you will ensure the kitchen and pantry areas remain spotless and well‑organized.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties throughout the kitchen, food preparation areas and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Maintain pantry, fridge and freezer cleanliness and ensure all equipment, crockery, cutlery and glassware are stored hygienically.
• Operate the dishwashing machine according to the manual and assist with food preparation as directed.
• Collect and dispose of garbage correctly each shift and handle chemicals safely.
• Contribute to cost control by conserving energy, water and cleaning materials.

Required profile

• Team player with a ‘can‑do’ attitude.
• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Understanding of food safety requirements and hygiene regulations.
• High standard of grooming and presentation.
• Availability to work evenings until midnight and flexible across a 7‑day roster.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial dishwashing equipment.
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling and storage.
