Junior Procurement Specialist

About the role

IXOM is looking for a Junior Procurement Specialist to join its Supply Chain team at the Melbourne head office. The role offers hands-on exposure to sourcing, supplier management, commercial analysis, contracts and category management across Australia and New Zealand, with mentorship and professional development. It suits someone with early commercial, procurement, supply chain or analytical experience who wants to build a long-term career in procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Support RFIs, RFQs and RFPs, including documentation, commercial comparisons and stakeholder communication
• Support sourcing and contract management across fleet, packaging, travel and other categories
• Analyse spend, pricing and supplier information to support commercial decisions and category planning
• Assist with supplier onboarding, performance monitoring, governance and compliance
• Carry out administrative tasks and data collection for management reporting
• Build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and maintain procurement data and reporting
• Progressively take ownership of lower-risk sourcing activities and supplier relationships

Required profile

• Early experience in procurement, purchasing, commercial analysis, finance, supply chain, business administration or a similar commercial environment
• Qualification in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain or a related discipline
• Strong numerical and analytical ability, good attention to detail and written communication skills
• Self-motivated, curious and eager to learn

Required skills

• Confidence with Excel and commercial data
• Experience with SAP or another ERP system is advantageous but not essential
