Junior Consultant - Risk Advisory

About the role

A junior consulting professional is sought to join the Risk Advisory practice of one of Australia's leading independent law firms, based in Sydney. The practice is fully integrated with the firm's Legal and Data Intelligence groups and works with global and domestic public and private sector clients. It has a strong pipeline of mandates and is looking for a junior Consultant to work alongside experienced practitioners on risk management, regulatory and compliance matters for tier-1 financial services clients.

Key responsibilities

• Support the delivery of strategic advice and help clients navigate complex regulatory environments
• Assist with advisory engagements across risk management, regulatory and compliance matters
• Help clients manage risks effectively and achieve their business objectives
• Contribute to the design and implementation of risk management frameworks
• Deliver regulatory compliance advice and governance reviews
• Provide support on regulatory enforcement and investigations

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in law, commerce, business or another relevant degree, with excellent academic performance
• 1-2 years' consulting experience, ideally in a top-tier professional or financial services firm
• Some familiarity with Australian regulatory frameworks such as APRA, ASIC and/or AUSTRAC
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication, confident engaging stakeholders at all levels
• An agile mindset, curiosity and a passion for working in multidisciplinary teams combining legal, risk, data and technology expertise
