Job Placement Officer

About the role

BUSY Ability, part of The BUSY Group, supports people with disability and people with lived experience of the justice system to find meaningful, sustainable work. As a Job Placement Officer based in Mackay and working across Proserpine, Bowen and Cannonvale, you will connect inclusive employers with jobseekers, champion diversity and help create workplaces where everyone can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with local businesses and advocate for inclusive hiring
• Identify and convert new job opportunities through proactive engagement
• Deliver job readiness workshops on resumes, interviews and workplace skills
• Match jobseekers to roles that fit their abilities and goals
• Ensure workplaces are safe, accessible and culturally inclusive
• Represent BUSY Ability at expos, job fairs and local events
• Turn leads into sustainable placements

Required profile

• Experience in sales, recruitment, employment services, employer engagement or diversity hiring, able to handle objections and engage employers
• Confident communicator who builds trust quickly
• Passionate about inclusion, accessibility and person-centred support
• Able to obtain a National Police Check and Blue Card, and hold a valid driver's licence
