Italian Speaking Visitor for Aged Care Resident

About the role

HammondCare is looking for a volunteer visitor to spend meaningful time with an elderly resident at its Hammondville Residential Aged Care facility. The role offers companionship, warmth and genuine connection, and is part of the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme funded by the Australian Government.

Key responsibilities

• Visit the resident to share time, conversation and friendship.
• Offer companionship and simple moments of connection that can help reduce isolation and improve quality of life.
• Visit once a week or every two weeks, depending on availability.

Required profile

• Speaks Italian and has a little knowledge of Italian culture.
• Enjoys friendly conversation and is kind, patient and happy to brighten another person's day.
• 18 years or older.
• Able to meet a one-hour visit between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday.
