IT Operations & Security Specialist

About the role
New Forests is looking for an IT Operations & Security Specialist to provide frontline support and safeguard the organisation’s global workforce. You will work within a Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud environment, ensuring that employees are productive and protected.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver day‑to‑day IT support for global staff, troubleshooting hardware, software and connectivity issues both remotely and on‑site.
- Maintain core services such as printing, video conferencing, telephony, network access and mobile device management.
- Manage onboarding/off‑boarding processes, system backups and compliance with IT policies.
- Implement and monitor security controls across cloud platforms, networks, endpoints and identity systems.
- Respond to security incidents, conduct breach analysis and drive remediation.
- Oversee endpoint protection, firewalls and access controls, and coordinate escalations with external providers.
- Produce operational reports, track vendor performance and lead security audits, vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Lead cyber‑security awareness initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of secure IT operations.
Required profile
- Degree or certification in Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a related field.
- Security certification such as CompTIA Security+ is advantageous.
- Proven experience with Microsoft 365, Azure and related services.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a proactive approach to threat detection.
- Experience providing remote technical support and working in a help‑desk environment.
