Intermediate Solicitor - Family Law (Cronulla)
Southern Waters Legal · Cronulla
Job description
About the role
An award-winning firm is seeking a full-time Intermediate Solicitor to join its Family Law team at its beachside Cronulla office. The role offers exposure to complex, high-quality family law matters, with growing autonomy: you run your own matters from the first client meeting through to resolution and court appearances, with oversight and strategic guidance from Senior Associates and the Head of Family Law on more complex or higher-risk cases.
Key responsibilities
- Run your own files across the full range of family law matters, including parenting arrangements, property settlements, divorce matters, child support and asset protection
- Handle binding financial agreements, mediations and court appearances
- Manage your workflow with the support of experienced legal support staff, graduates and junior team members
- As experience grows, support and guide junior lawyers and graduates and take on greater responsibility within the team
Required profile
- Relevant experience providing high-quality family law advice, with a demonstrated ability to manage your own files
- Experience supporting, mentoring or reviewing the work of junior team members is desirable
- Initiative, enthusiasm, a confident and professional manner, and the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and a positive, collaborative attitude
What we offer
- The firm covers the cost of professional registration, including the annual practising certificate and CLE requirements
- Nomination for local and national industry awards, support for further specialisation or accreditation, and business development support
- A bonus scheme for high performers reaching individual targets, and a clear pathway to Senior Associate
- Support from experienced legal secretaries and a growing team of graduates and paralegals, with solicitor-only sessions on legislative developments
- Annual team planning day, monthly team meetings, social events, team recognition and a Christmas/New Year shutdown
- Beachside office with on-site gym, pool and sauna, wellness initiatives, an Employee Assistance Program and onsite parking
- Office hours of 8.30 am to 5.00 pm with a one-hour lunch break; flexible working arrangements are negotiable
