Intermediate Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join a boutique accounting and advisory firm in Brisbane CBD. This position offers exposure to both compliance work and advisory services, allowing you to develop technical and commercial skills while working directly with business owners and professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
• Prepare BAS, IAS, reconciliations and supporting workpapers.
• Assist with tax planning and research accounting and taxation queries.
• Liaise with clients to obtain information and respond to day‑to‑day enquiries.
• Support senior team members on business services and advisory assignments.
• Manage workload to meet client requirements and deadlines.

Required profile

• Approximately 2–3 years’ experience within Australian public practice.
• Degree qualified in Accounting, with CA/CPA studies underway or a willingness to commence.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Confident communication skills and an interest in working directly with clients.
• Proactive attitude and desire to develop beyond compliance work.
