Intermediate Accountant – Business Services & Tax

About the role

Prosperity is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join its Business Services & Tax team in Brisbane CBD. You will work closely with managers and directors, gaining exposure to a wide range of business services and tax issues while developing client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain client relationships across diverse industries, from business owners to professionals.
• Deliver high‑quality work through your team, ensuring client expectations are met.
• Provide business advisory services including restructuring, tax planning, and cash‑flow management.
• Collaborate with specialists to offer a full suite of services and identify business development opportunities.
• Mentor and provide feedback to junior and intermediate accountants.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• CA/CPA qualified or willing to study.
• 2+ years' experience in a chartered environment (or 6–12 months for graduate applicants).
• Strong ethics, communication skills and a proactive, client‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero practice management.
• Experience using cloud‑based accounting systems.
• Technical knowledge of tax and accounting compliance, including Division 7A, FBT and CGT.
• Ability to manage time effectively and maintain attention to detail.
