Intelligence Director

About the role

The Intelligence Director will lead the delivery of high‑quality intelligence that informs tactical, operational and strategic decisions across tax and superannuation contexts. Reporting within the Compliance and Engagement Group, you will operate in complex, sensitive environments and shape how intelligence is collected, prioritised, developed and applied.

Key responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for intelligence outcomes for assigned market segments or focus areas.
• Oversee the use of analytical methods and tools to produce actionable intelligence products.
• Ensure intelligence activities comply with ATO governance, assurance and security requirements.
• Provide trusted intelligence advice to senior executives, ministers and contribute to briefings and strategic advice.
• Lead, mentor and develop analysts and managers, ensuring processes align with the intelligence cycle and national standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading intelligence functions in complex, sensitive environments.
• Strong understanding of Australian Government intelligence practices and standards.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide strategic advice.
• Leadership experience managing analysts and cross‑functional teams.
