Insurance Broker – Business Development Focus

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Broker with strong business development skills to join our Local Community Insurance Services (LCIS) team in Adelaide. Working in a hybrid model, you will grow and service a portfolio of community and not‑for‑profit clients across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and expand a portfolio of clients and prospects, building trust‑based relationships with senior decision‑makers.
• Proactively develop new business through outreach, cold‑calling, and moving opportunities through the sales funnel.
• Lead the creation and delivery of tailored proposals and presentations that address client risks.
• Identify cross‑sell and up‑sell opportunities, ensuring policies are renewed on time and remain appropriate.
• Collaborate with internal teams (policy administration, billing, finance, claims) to deliver a seamless client experience.

Required profile

• 1–2+ years’ experience in insurance broking, account management or a client‑facing role with a sales focus.
• Strong knowledge of general insurance products and ability to identify client needs.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, confident dealing with senior stakeholders.
• Highly self‑motivated with a genuine business development mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience using client/CRM or broking systems.
• RG146 Tier 1 Insurance Broking (or Tier 1 FSRA) certification preferred.
