Instrument Technician – Central Sterilisation

About the role

The Central Sterilisation and Supply Departments (CSSDs) at Sunshine and Joan Kirner Women's & Children's Hospitals in Western Health are looking for a qualified Instrument Technician with at least 2 years' experience. The role supports a high standard of sterilisation services for the operating suites and wards. The successful candidate will work a rotating roster and be ready to work in CSSD on other Western Health campuses. Pay is Grade 4 (or commensurate with experience) plus superannuation and salary packaging.

Key responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect and sterilise reusable medical devices in line with national standards and hospital policy.
• Apply the principles of sterilisation, disinfection and tracking in the CSSD environment.
• Navigate the Scancare tracking system to support daily work.

Required profile

• Certificate 3 or 4 in Sterilisation and a minimum of 2 years' full-time CSSD experience.
• Available to work a rotating roster, Monday to Friday.
• Positive team player, flexible, organised and able to take direction from senior staff.
• Good computer skills to use the tracking system effectively.
