Infrastructure Security Engineer

About the role

Centorrino Technologies is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Security Engineer to harden and secure Windows and Linux server environments. This 6‑month contract role will be based in Melbourne or Hobart and involves implementing CIS security controls and automating configurations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain CIS Benchmark Level 1 security controls across Windows and Linux servers.
• Develop and maintain Puppet code to automate security hardening and configuration.
• Manage infrastructure‑as‑code through GitHub, handling pull requests, peer reviews and releases.
• Test and validate security configurations before production deployment and troubleshoot any issues.
• Collaborate with Cyber Security, Cloud Infrastructure, Application and Technical Support teams.

Required profile

• Strong experience administering and securing Microsoft Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Hands‑on experience with CIS Benchmarks, security baselines or OS hardening.
• Enterprise experience with Puppet and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Proficiency using GitHub for source control, branching, pull requests and code reviews.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to assess impact of security controls.
