Information Security Engineer

About the role

The Information Security Engineer will lead the cyber security posture across Torrens University institutions, ensuring continuous assessment and improvement of security measures. You will collaborate with IT, software development, and business stakeholders to identify, analyse, and remediate threats.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, operate and monitor advanced security infrastructure, platforms, applications and tools.
• Conduct vendor security assessments and manage remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
• Monitor and respond to security threats using tools such as Nexpose, Cisco AMP for Endpoints, Cisco IDS and Cisco Umbrella.
• Work with technical managers and IT operations to mitigate risks and manage technology incidents.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related technical field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in security analysis, engineering, research or consulting.
• 5+ years of networking experience, preferably with Cisco technologies.
• Proven ability to assess vulnerabilities using industry‑standard tools and to remediate security incidents.

Required skills

• Cisco technologies (including Cisco AMP, Cisco IDS, Cisco Umbrella).
• Nexpose vulnerability scanning.
• Network security assessment and threat monitoring.
• Experience with enterprise, network, system/endpoint and application‑level security.
