Information Governance Project Officer

About the role

The Information Governance Project Officer will ensure legislative compliance by administering and managing information applications, including an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). This full‑time position supports a vibrant culture of caring within a tertiary education environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain a privacy framework aligned with the Privacy Act 1988 and related legislation.
• Conduct regular privacy risk assessments and mitigate security and third‑party vendor risks.
• Manage data rights requests and implement Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies, analysing data flows for potential loss incidents.
• Administer and maintain the EDMS and associated file analysis software, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Create and update user documentation, troubleshoot system issues, and provide technical support.
• Design and deliver privacy awareness and application training programs for staff at all levels.

Required profile

• Proven experience with EDMS in a complex organisational setting.
• Ability to interpret and apply legislation and policy frameworks to monitor information compliance.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills for stakeholder and vendor interaction.
• Demonstrated research, analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Experience developing and delivering training or awareness programmes.
