Indirect Procurement Specialist – Hybrid (Brisbane/Perth)

About the role

Join Sandvik Mining as an Indirect Procurement Specialist, responsible for driving operational excellence across the indirect procurement function. Based in Brisbane or Perth on a hybrid schedule, you will manage end‑to‑end procurement activities, from purchase order processing to supplier onboarding and contract support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead supplier onboarding, completing all compliance and governance checks.
• Optimise procurement workflows using Sandvik’s Procure‑to‑Pay platforms, including spend plans and supplier setup.
• Maintain key procurement systems such as Citibank, Ecovadis and Basware.
• Keep supplier databases accurate through vendor master data cleansing and deactivation.
• Support and contribute to supplier contract negotiations and capture documentation in SRM.
• Independently negotiate contracts with transactional suppliers to drive value.
• Investigate and resolve supplier account holds and invoice discrepancies.
• Process and finalise purchase orders ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor supplier compliance with Sandvik’s procurement policies.
• Engage with suppliers and internal stakeholders, leading meetings and providing insights.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Supply Chain Operations (Purchasing and Procurement) or a tertiary qualification in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 5+ years experience in procurement, purchasing or supply‑chain operations, preferably in indirect categories.
• Strong commercial acumen, attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
