In-Water Guide - Dive Instructor

About the role

Exmouth Dive & Whalesharks Ningaloo, an experiential tourism business based on the Ningaloo Reef in Exmouth, Western Australia, is hiring an In-Water Wildlife Guide (Dive Instructor). The role leads snorkel activities and wildlife interactions, engages guests and supports safe, professional tour operations. The business operates from February/March to October/November.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise guests during snorkelling and wildlife interactions, ensuring safety, confidence and an exceptional experience.
• Deliver briefings and interpretation on local wildlife, marine ecology and the Ningaloo region.
• Coordinate guest transfers, equipment fitting and daily tour logistics.
• Provide customer service and help create memorable experiences.
• Support vessel operations, including tour preparation, cleaning, vehicle and equipment upkeep, restocking and pack-down.
• Work with the Vessel Master and crew to identify wildlife, coordinate guest activities and maintain safe operations.
• Maintain safety, environmental compliance and professionalism, and contribute to crew training and mentoring.

Required profile

• Experience in a comparable guiding role within marine tourism.
• Enthusiastic, confident communicator who stays calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to obtain the following before the start date: Driver's Licence with LR endorsement, Passenger Transport Driver (PTD) authorisation, Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate and Exmouth Shire Food Handling certificate.

Required skills

• Current Dive Master certification (required)
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (required)
