In-House Legal Counsel

About the role

Police Bank is seeking an experienced In-House Legal Counsel to provide end‑to‑end legal support across commercial contracting, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, balancing legal risk with the Bank’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer, supplier, distribution, outsourcing, NDAs, MOUs and partnership contracts.
• Provide commercially focused legal advice on contract risk, liability, pricing structures and dispute mitigation.
• Support product development, procurement, technology and business teams with timely legal input.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks and guidance materials to improve consistency.
• Manage contract disputes, claims and negotiations, coordinating with external counsel when needed.
• Monitor, interpret and advise on banking laws, regulations, prudential standards and regulatory guidance.
• Design, implement and enhance regulatory compliance frameworks, policies and procedures.
• Advise on regulatory change initiatives and assess impacts on products, operations and strategy.
• Engage with regulators and industry bodies, supporting responses to inquiries and audits.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with substantial experience in commercial and regulatory matters within the banking or financial services sector.
• Proven ability to partner with business units and senior leaders.
• Strong commercial acumen and pragmatic problem‑solving approach.
• Ability to work autonomously and shape legal processes and governance.
