ICT Technical Sales Engineer

About the role

HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting, on behalf of its client, a commercially minded ICT Technical Sales Engineer for a permanent full-time role in Epping, Melbourne. The client works in Australia's telecommunications, data centre, utility and critical infrastructure sectors and offers optical communication and fibre optic solutions. The role combines technical expertise, customer engagement and business development, with hybrid working.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners and key stakeholders
• Identify and develop new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts
• Provide technical advice, product demonstrations and pre-sales support
• Prepare quotations, proposals, contracts and tender submissions
• Support customers throughout the project lifecycle, including implementation, training and ongoing technical assistance

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline
• Experience in technical sales, sales engineering or business development, or in telecommunications, optical networks, IT infrastructure, engineering or technical support
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency with unrestricted work rights
• Previous technical sales experience in telecommunications or IT sectors, and exposure to international business culture or smaller corporate environments
• Ability to travel interstate or internationally when required

• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with optical communication products or fibre optic technology
