HVAC Technician - Defence

About the role

Service Stream, an ASX-listed provider of essential services networks, has joined the Australian Department of Defence as a partner delivering Property and Asset Services across South Australia and the Northern Territory. It is looking for an HVAC Technician for its Defence division, on a permanent full-time basis in Edinburgh, South Australia. The company has been servicing critical infrastructure for over 20 years, and the contract is a minimum 6-year term.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational maintenance, repairs and services to air conditioning, controlled temperature and refrigeration systems in Defence buildings and infrastructure.
• Carry out regular preventative maintenance of HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, refrigeration systems and controlled temperature environments.
• Diagnose and repair faults in HVAC systems to maintain performance and prevent failures.
• Install new HVAC systems and components, complying with safety and regulatory standards.
• Monitor and adjust system controls to ensure efficient operation and the right temperature settings.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work, including parts used.
• Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimise downtime.
• Collaborate with other maintenance and engineering teams on complex issues.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures.

Required profile

• Australian Refrigeration Mechanic trade qualification.
• Demonstrated experience with chilled water systems, chillers, air handling units and BMS control systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Restricted or open electrical licence.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance.
