Human Resources Specialist

About the role

McMahon Services is seeking an HR Specialist to act as a true generalist, supporting leaders and employees across the entire employee lifecycle. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will coach managers, lead employee‑relations matters and help deliver the employee survey cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support the employee survey cycle, promote participation, review results and run results workshops with leaders.
• Deliver leader learning sessions and workshops that build people‑management capability.
• Build trusted relationships with internal customers and encourage use of HR services through face‑to‑face conversations.
• Coach and guide leaders on performance and conduct, from informal talks to formal performance management.
• Advise, support and lead employee‑relations matters, including investigations, response meetings and outcomes such as warnings or terminations.
• Manage industrial claims and advise on probation terminations.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in HR, Psychology or a related discipline (highly desirable).
• Strong experience in a generalist HR role, preferably in a fast‑paced environment.
• Sound knowledge of HR best practices and employment legislation.
• Experience supporting workplace investigations and disciplinary processes with procedural fairness.
• Proven ability to coach leaders and facilitate workshops.
