Chief People Officer

About the role

Silentium Defence is seeking a Chief People Officer to join its executive leadership team in Adelaide. The role will shape people strategy, workforce planning and organisational development to support the company’s growth in Australian and international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop people strategy, workforce plans and organisational structures aligned with future capability requirements.
• Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management and employment compliance.
• Strengthen recruitment, onboarding, leadership development and talent management.
• Develop practical policies and governance to ensure consistency and sound decision‑making.
• Use workforce data and employee feedback to inform priorities and improvements.
• Support leaders and employees through organisational change across locations and time zones.

Required profile

• Senior people leader with experience supporting organisations through growth and increasing complexity.
• Executive credibility, commercial judgement and willingness to stay involved in operational people matters.
• Experience with international workforce, strong employee‑relations expertise and sound governance knowledge.
• Approachable, collaborative leadership style with ability to build trust and drive change.
• Background in technology, product development, engineering or similar specialist environments (defence experience not essential).
