Human Resources Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist to provide broad HR support for a large manufacturing and supply business in South East Melbourne. Reporting to both the HR Manager and Payroll Manager, you will act as a generalist partner across the employee life‑cycle, covering recruitment, employee relations, training, compliance and WorkCover matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, onboarding and induction of new staff.
• Coordinate training programmes and maintain related compliance records.
• Oversee WorkCover claims, Return‑to‑Work programs and related documentation.
• Conduct visa checks and ensure employment‑legislation compliance.
• Maintain employee records, HRIS data and other HR documentation.
• Support employee relations, performance management and provide advice to managers.
• Assist with HR administration, reporting and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to workplace health and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a generalist HR role with strong recruitment and onboarding exposure.
• Demonstrated ability to manage WorkCover and Return‑to‑Work processes.
• Solid understanding of HR compliance and Australian employment legislation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR information systems (HRIS).
