HR Specialist – Ballarat

About the role

The HR Specialist will provide hands‑on, site‑based HR support at McCain’s Ballarat plant, partnering with leaders and employees to enhance the employee experience and uphold the company’s culture.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with leaders and employees to manage employee relations matters, including investigations, corrective actions, and appeals.
• Support labour relations and employee relations activities in line with local legislation and McCain policies.
• Deliver end‑to‑end recruitment support for high‑volume hiring and internal moves.
• Coordinate onboarding experiences and manage employee lifecycle activities, including separations and leave of absence processes.
• Assist with employee engagement, wellbeing, and retention initiatives at the site level.
• Promote adoption of HR systems and self‑service tools and share insights to improve service delivery.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role.
• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field (preferred).
• Strong understanding of employment legislation, policies, and HR practices.
• Excellent relationship‑building, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Confidence working with HR systems and digital tools.
• Detail‑oriented with a practical, solutions‑focused mindset.
