HR Specialist – Ballarat

About the role

McCain is looking for an HR Specialist to join its Ballarat site. In this on‑site position you will partner with local leaders and employees to deliver a seamless employee experience, support talent processes and manage employee relations.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with leaders and employees on employee‑relations matters, including investigations, corrective actions and appeals.
• Support labour‑relations and employee‑relations activities in line with Australian legislation and McCain policies.
• Deliver end‑to‑end recruitment and internal hiring support in collaboration with Talent Acquisition.
• Coordinate onboarding experiences for new hires.
• Manage employee‑lifecycle activities such as voluntary and involuntary separations.
• Administer leave‑of‑absence processes, working with external vendors and HR systems.
• Contribute to site‑level engagement, wellbeing and retention initiatives.
• Provide insights and trends to improve HR service delivery and promote HR self‑service tools.
• Participate in HR programs and projects that strengthen McCain’s culture.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role.
• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field (preferred).
• Strong understanding of employment legislation, policies and HR practices.
• Experience handling employee‑relations and lifecycle activities.
• Excellent relationship‑building, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Confidence using HR systems and digital tools.
• Detail‑oriented with a practical, solutions‑focused mindset.
