Housing Officer - Dauan Island

About the role

The Housing Officer supports the Torres Strait Island Regional Council's social housing tenants and applicants on Dauan Island. The role provides high-quality customer service and effective tenancy management while ensuring social housing policies and procedures are followed. It involves working closely with tenants and community members to maintain sustainable tenancies, help applicants through the housing process and keep housing assets safe and well managed.

Key responsibilities

• Manage social housing tenancies and monitor rent.
• Support tenants experiencing rental arrears.
• Assist community members with housing applications.
• Conduct inspections and coordinate maintenance requests.
• Maintain tenancy records and housing registers.
