Hotel General Manager - Boutique Waterfront Hotel

About the role

Adina Hotel Darling Harbour, a 114-key boutique hotel on King Street Wharf in Sydney, has just finished its transformation and is looking for a driven General Manager. The role covers Rooms, Food & Beverage and Guest Services with no layers of management between you and the results, reporting to the Area General Manager. The hotel has about 50 people, a pool, gym and conference rooms, and a waterfront restaurant and bar called Shoreline Kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Build hotel performance in a newly refreshed environment, set clear goals and deliver against them.
• Create a warm, personalised boutique service culture that guests notice and teams are proud of.
• Drive Food & Beverage sales and marketing, including activations, events and local partnerships.
• Own the direct-impact commercial results (revenue, F&B sales, labour and cost control), with budgeting and forecasting support from the central team.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and the local business community.
• Recruit, develop and inspire a motivated team through visible, hands-on leadership.

Required profile

• General Manager experience, or an accomplished Hotel Manager ready for the next step, in a quality hotel environment.
• A strong Food & Beverage background with a track record of driving restaurant and bar performance.
• Sharp commercial acumen and a proven record of improving hotel or venue performance.
• Passion for personalised, guest-first service.
• Dynamic, hands-on leadership style with strong communication and stakeholder skills.
• Full, unrestricted Australian working rights (sponsorship not available).
• Desirable: boutique or lifestyle hotel experience, pre-opening or repositioning experience, a tertiary qualification in hospitality or business, and knowledge of the Sydney hospitality market.

• Understanding of WHS, food safety and hotel compliance requirements.
• Budgeting and forecasting support from the central team.
