Hotel Accountant

About the role

A hotel that is a member of the Accor network is looking for a Hotel Accountant in Perth. The role manages the full accounting function of the property, from general ledger and bank reconciliations through to statutory compliance, month-end close and audit support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting function, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
• Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process and oversee accounts receivable
• Prepare weekly and monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
• Maintain and process payroll-related accounting entries
• Prepare and lodge BAS, payroll tax, FBT and other statutory compliance requirements
• Prepare monthly income statement, financial analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with month-end management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Coordinate month-end and year-end closing and support internal and external audits
• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies and compliance with relevant regulations
• Manage inventory accounting and stock controls, and reconcile intercompany transactions
• Support process improvement initiatives and provide ad hoc financial and operational support

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• CPA/CA qualified or working towards qualification preferred
• Minimum 5 years' accounting experience
• Sound knowledge of Australian accounting standards, BAS, payroll tax and compliance requirements
• High attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities independently, multicultural awareness and strong communication skills
