Home Economics Assistant – Support Textiles & Food Classes

About the role

We are building a pool of Home Economics Assistants to support the delivery of textiles and food curricula at Shenton College. The role involves preparing the learning environment, maintaining equipment, and assisting teachers with student supervision both in class and on excursions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain equipment, materials and resources for textiles and food classes.
• Carry out regular cleaning and ensure safe storage of equipment after activities.
• Assist teachers with student care, supervision and support during lessons and out-of-class activities.
• Manage ordering, stocktaking and monitoring of food and textile supplies.
• Support small-group or individual student activities on school excursions.
