Home Care Worker (Casual)

About the role

Anglicare Woolooware Shores is looking for a Home Care Worker to work on a casual basis in its village in Taren Point, within the Sutherland Shire. The role is fully onsite, with no travel between clients, and offers a variety of shift times including weekends. You will provide compassionate, high-quality support to clients in their own homes, helping them stay independent and live with dignity.

Key responsibilities

• Domestic assistance: household chores such as washing, ironing, vacuuming and dusting
• Meal preparation: planning, preparing and cooking meals
• Personal care support: showering, dressing, grooming and other hygiene needs
• Social engagement: companionship and encouragement to take part in social activities
• Transport services: taking clients to appointments, shopping trips and social outings

Required profile

• Kind, patient and respectful person passionate about improving the lives of older people
• Valid NSW driver's licence and a reliable NSW C class motor vehicle for travel between client locations
• Accredited First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations (highly recommended)
• Preferred: previous home care or disability support experience, and Certificate III in Individual Support (Aging, Home and Community)

• Basic computer and smartphone literacy
• Empathy, patience, communication, reliability and adaptability
