Home Care Assistant (Part-Time)

About the role

Respect, Regional Australia's largest aged care provider, is looking for caring, reliable and motivated Home Care Assistants to give personalised support to clients in their own homes. Two part-time positions are available: one in Wodonga (unqualified) requiring availability on at least two of Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with Wednesday mandatory, and one in Wangaratta and surrounds (qualified) with flexible availability.

Key responsibilities

• Support clients to maintain wellbeing and independence according to their care plans, goals and service plans.
• Provide personal care such as bathing, hygiene, dressing, grooming, mobility support, lifting, meal preparation and fitting of aids.
• Do domestic assistance including cleaning, laundry, food preparation and shopping.
• Offer social support and transport to appointments and community activities.
• Monitor client health and wellbeing, including medication where trained and competent, and report changes to the Home Care Manager.
• Maintain professional, respectful relationships with clients and accurate documentation.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Aged Care, Disability or equivalent, and a current National Police Certificate (or ability to obtain).
• Physically able to perform the role safely and effectively.
• Relevant community care experience such as home care, personal care or disability support.
• First Aid certificate within 3 years, driver's licence, a registered and insured vehicle, and compliance with mandatory vaccinations including COVID-19 (flu ideally).
